This Santa's Express was a strong vision and background until Seppo met Markku. <\/span><b>Markku Sepp\u00e4l\u00e4<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the developer of both Tornio and Kemi railway stations and together these two enterprising and imaginative men developed the idea of developing Tornio station into a Santa Claus station with lots of activities and a departure point for Santa's Express.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Years passed and the summer of 2022 arrived. Seppo Lankinen was looking for a new wind in the sails of the concept and visited a tour operator\/travel agent's <\/span><b>Irina Louste<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Kemi. Irina introduced Sepo <\/span><b>To Minna Miettunen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a concept developer and a sales specialist. At the same time, long-standing tourism professionals joined the team <\/span><b>P\u00e4ivi Koskela and Oskar van Ieperen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The Santa Claus train company was born and six multi-sector entrepreneurs started working on a pilot for Christmas 2022 in the region.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><b>Pilot in Christmas 2022\u00a0<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Joulupukin juna Oy found an operating partner <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hoyryveturimatkat1009.fi\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">H\u00f6yryveturimatkat 1009<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> oy from Kouvola, which has a unique <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hoyryveturimatkat1009.fi\/tietoa-hoyryjunakalustosta\/ukko-pekka-hr1-1009\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ukko-Pekka, locomotive Hr1 1009<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This large and rugged locomotive arrived in Sea Lapland at the beginning of December with 6 wagons. The aim of the pilot was to understand the demand and what kind of product could sell. The demand took the operators by surprise and the train practically sold out in a few days. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/joulupukinjuna.fi\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The object of the sale was a Christmas steam train trip to Pello.\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Overall, the pilot exceeded the news threshold both nationally and on both sides of the border and was the hottest topic on social media for a week. In addition to our Christmas journeys, we offer story-driven summer and autumn experiences in the Western Lapland under the name <strong data-start=\"534\" data-end=\"555\">Wild West Lapland<\/strong>, a culinary journey from Oulu called <strong data-start=\"593\" data-end=\"613\">Taste of Lapland<\/strong>, the winter-time <strong data-start=\"631\" data-end=\"646\">Aurora Line to Aavasaksa<\/strong>, and our flagship year-round product in Sea Lapland: <strong data-start=\"700\" data-end=\"724\">Industrial Northstar<\/strong>, operated with a steam train.<\/p><p data-start=\"756\" data-end=\"1115\">A key part of our strategy is close cooperation with Haparanda, as Sweden and the Haparanda station are extremely important to our company.
